Ides

www.caffection.com

The Ides of March are nearly upon us, and this time of year presents a good opportunity to look ahead instead of behind for a change. It's very nearly Spring; time change has already happened; graduation dates are close by and the next big holiday is Memorial Day. Here's an idea: instead of waiting for a public celebration, why not create your own holiday. Call it Caffection Day, and make it a movable feast, a day you do nothing but spend time with your favorite person in the world. It's too easy to neglect the person you love most, live with, share everything with, sleep with in favor of people we see once and then never again. Caffection is another way of re-prioritizing, so we have a balanced life.

Spring Forward

CAFFECTION.com
As we spring forward this year, let's focus on helping each other during these challenging times. Every day we learn of a friend, neighbor and/or family member who has encountered a setback as a result of the struggling economy. Since most of us are only able to those closest to us, we can at least give emotional support to others. Keeping a positive attitude and a ready smile goes a long way to bring others up.

Our greatest glory is not in never falling, but in rising every time we fall. Confucius

Split Seconds

www.caffection.com

Our lives can turn in a split second, altering and detouring in ways we never could have imagined. We've all looked back as a wreck occurs at an intersection we just passed; a friend phones us one afternoon full of cheer and good tidings, and then passes away during the night; a child steps between two cars to retrieve a ball, tires scream, and someone's life is changed forever. We've all been there; this 'life event' has happened to all of us. This is yet another reason we need to heed the gentle voice of reason and serenity and default to love and kindness. There's a saying: "As long as we are capable of anger, there are lessons to be learned."
Here's our thought for this day, and for many: as long as people actively seek to deny their fellow human beings something they take for granted, that denial is a physical manifestation of anger. Particularly if the granting of that benefit, right or resource costs us nothing, and instead increases the amount of love and compassion in the world, that denial is not only suspect, it is indicative of deep seated insecurity and hate. If so, the owner of those emotions needs to do some hard work to raise their emotional intelligence level. Remember, as Wayne Dyer says: "Always choose kind".

Video Madness

www.caffection.com

Why is it that videos have such a strong emotional impact on us? Is it because videos of anything make us truly believe that something can be real? Or is it something even more fundamental to the human species, a belief that seeing something move makes it not only appear real, but become a reality?
The reason we're asking today is because more than once we've been asked to remove videos from someone's FB page or e-mail, because the presentation makes them 'uncomfortable'. We're referring to videos like our Caffection productions for YouTube, in which we make no differentiation between straight and gay love. Quite frankly, we didn't know there was a difference. If those videos, and others like them are so powerful, then we all need to transfer the presentations found on Get To Know Us First, and maybe, maybe things will begin to change. Okay, we're a couple of dreamers. Dreams are videos, too, are they not?
